"pool and spa facilities were good, rooms were spacious and clean, staff were friendly, far enough out of dublin to enjoy peace and quiet and only 30 minutes on the local bus "
"I enjoyed my stay at the Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel. It was a nice property though definitely geared towards older people.
There's not much in the surrounding area if you're walking, though I was able to take a nice hike nearby. It's about a 15-20 minute walk into town but beware on the way back since it's quite steep uphill.
The pool was nice though it does require you to wear a swim cap which they provide. You can have dinner at the hotels various restaurants - though they're all kind of one...
