"A good price budget hotel in a perfect location in the Gothic Quarter, truly the heart of Barcelona. Simple, clean and basic ensuite rooms. Surrounded by a maze of alleys containing shops, bars and places to eat. Only negative was noise, some very noisy 5am shouting inside the hotel, although vast majority of people I ever saw were more grown up. "

"This hotel is right in the heart of the gothic district yet was pretty quiet at night. The staff has you turn over your key, which was nice because I did not have to worry about losing it and they give it back whenever you return 24 hrs a day. The bathroom was pretty large and had excellent hot water and shower pressure. "

"Hip Karma Hostel was a great place to stay! We were a group of 14 people so booked the 8 bed and 6 bed rooms (both private - only us). The bathrooms are shared with everyone in the hostel but we had no issues with this - they were kept clean and tidy, and no queues. The only issue we had was that you have to pay for bedding (not included on booking), and even though we booked the whole room, we weren’t allowed a key to the bedroom. "Clean and safe hotel in excellent location, right across Barcelona Cathedral. We could see the cathedral from our terrace, and got a great photo of the cathedral from the rooftop bar. Staff was extremely courteous and helpful. We love the spacious and functional layout (double sink, separate toilet and shower with doors for privacy) of our room. Cannot comment on breakfast, because we had day tours with early departure. There are lots of coffee shops with pastries and ice cream. Highly recommend seafood meals at Casa Marie i Rafo (2 minute walk). Restaurant front looks like a small fish market stall, but dining area behind is comfortable. Seafood is extremely fresh and tasty. Will return to hotel and restaurant in our next visit."
