"We loved our visit to the Colchester Boutique Hotel. It's very close to the centre of town where there are lots of places to get food and drink and do a little sightseeing. The hotel has a quirky charm with several communal areas decorated nicely with art and antiques. We particularly liked the vintage cigarette machine. "It was perfect for the lone female business self employed traveller and had everything I needed , fridge, microwave. These were a godsend. Only thing I would change is the height of the basin and mirror in the bathroom . I’m a average height female at 5’ 4” and the basin and mirror are set at a 6’2” male I’m sure lol apart from that all good would definitely stay again :) "

"Great sea front property. The garden was a fabulous added bonus. The décor throughout was beautiful. Evening food was delicious! Only moan really, was our room was too hot despite the fan being on all night, and a delivery lorry parked right outside our bedroom window to roll off barrels etc (albeit 7.45am and not 5.00am) On the whole, this is a fantastic hotel, and I would stay again and recommend others to do the same."

"On return to the hotel on which would have been our 3rd night stay, we found the hotel in darkness apart from emergency lighting and torches. Apparently there was a power outage in the local area including the hotel. The reception staff being very professional explained the situation and gave us the choice of staying with no electricity or move on to another hotel which has been organised by the hotel.
