This will be one of the most honest reviews you will get! First the Pros!
Pros: The location of this resort is beautiful! The main pool is right on the beach and the ocean view is stunning. I loved the jungle atmosphere of the resort and contrary to other reviews, it's not a "dark" resort - who wants a wide open, no shade resort? Not us! The trees and foliage made this resort stunning. Staff for the most part was very friendly and inviting.
Cons:
1. A/C - the Air Conditioning we realized after a few nights was not coming down. We were in villa 18. Avoid this villa if you can. The ice machine did not work in it either so we had to go to a different villa to fill our ice and fill our sink with ice because our fridge also wasn't cold enough and we were tired of drinking luke warm bottled water. We went May 21-27 so we knew it was going to be hot and just chalked the lack of A/C up to it being too hot to keep up but we rented a vehicle and went into town and their stores were nice and cold so the hot weather was no longer an excuse. We went and complained about the A/C and were told someone would be there right away to look at it. Long story short, no one came. During the period of 2 hours that we waited for something, we looked through the bad reviews which we should have done prior to our trip but we wanted to have a non-biased trip and it had good reviews overall. Almost all the bad reviews were because of the A/C. Fix it guys! Will not be back until A/C is fixed.

we had to change rooms 3 times to finally get a room with an icebox and that the bathroom window was not broken,
the air conditioner was not working in nearly every room on the property.
we had to pay $352 just to upgrade to a room that everything worked.
we did now hear anyone that we talked to that was happy with this property,

None of the facilities on the property had adequate air conditioning. Food and drink options were limited in selection and time at which they were available. Unfortunately the beach has significantly eroded from recent storms, which makes it difficult to do any snorkeling from the shore. However, the staff were all very kind and accommodating, and the pools were well maintained.
