Had you done so, we could have verified the problems and addressed them. We photograph everything prior to the guest’s arrival. This includes high resolution pictures of each shower cubicle. Upon reviewing your claims, I checked the pictures of the showers, and all were cleaned to the standard expected (no mold). I have never heard of a single unit experiencing gnats in the 19 years I have been managing properties in Central Florida. No evidence of these insects could be found post departure. I am pleased to read that the house location was excellent, and that you found it conveniently close to the attractions. As stated in our terms and conditions of rental, we do not provide condiments or food products (for hygiene reasons). A standard coffee maker was available for your use, I’m sorry we did not have the type you wanted. The bathroom tub is not described as a jet tub (it never has been). All baby equipment is an optional extra as notated on the listing (because of the costs of delivering, storing, maintaining, and cleaning those items). Wash cloths and dish towels are by request only (as they are considered consumables). What we do provide is outlined in our terms and conditions under the section ‘Self Catering’. We were two grandparents with four married couples and 11 grandchildren celebrating a special birthday. You were very responsive to our needs and the home was clean and welcoming. We especially enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub." You did not mention the change to the bedroom configuration during your stay or in your note to me above. I was therefore surprised (and somewhat disappointed) that you would mark down the review for what is an enhancement to the home; especially when considering all the time and attention provided to you (unrelated to the home itself). Hi Donna, thanks for taking the time to post a review of your stay at the Maidstone Retreat (1557534). It is unfortunate that you mistakenly believed that a Category 5 hurricane was going to strike the area. The hurricane you refer to (as I stated to you at the time) had no impact on the ChampionsGate area and there was no damage to the home; risk to life or anything else to be concerned of. We had other guests in nearby homes that continued with their stay. In addition, you agreed to the terms and conditions of rental, and I explained to you that a refund would not be applicable as you were choosing to prematurely terminate your stay unnecessarily. The issues that you have largely fabricated are evidently commensurate with your annoyance at not getting the refund you demanded. Vrbo also did not make such a statement to you; they only referred you to the property owner. The AC can be set as required; the guideline given is 75. All consumables are provided, but you are responsible for replenishing them when they have been extinguished. Had you chosen to read the common-sense guidance provided, you would have been aware of the above. In addition, 80% of all linens were new, and the towels were 52” bath and 38” hand (standard sizes for these items). Thanks again for choosing the Maidstone Retreat with Vrbo. Trash is collected daily from the outside trash bench which easily holds 2 x 13-gallon trash bags. Trash can be taken to the nearby compactor or management can be contacted to remove excessive trash. Thank you Terry for taking the time to submit a review of your stay at the Maidstone Retreat (1557534). With respect to the hot tub, we provide guidance on use only – it is not a rule. Using the hot tub for extended periods can result in a green pool, as the pool is only filtering and circulating when the spa is not active. We only provide white towels as it would not be practical to have 24 different colors. Cleaning materials are (and were) provided. Everything was provided to you in accordance with the terms and conditions you agreed to when you made the reservation. Finally, the grill provided is the Blackstone 2 burner griddle as advertised. The grill top is oiled. The fact that it is oiled does not mean it is dirty; oiling the surface is necessary preservatory maintenance for cast iron griddles. Thank you Anthonia for taking the time to submit a review of your stay at the Maidstone Retreat (1557534). There was no actual issue with the thermostat. The smart thermostats installed unfortunately have proven difficult for guests to operate, so we proposed to change them both for simpler to use programable units. I was not made aware that this was causing you difficulty (prior to the change) as the weather was cool outside. The thermostats were due to be changed on the Wednesday of your stay. I confirm they were replaced 2 days later, so I apologize for the delay. I can assure you the pool heat was working, however the outside air temperature dropped into the high 30’s, low 40’s F overnight. When the temperatures drop below 50 degrees F, the pool heater can-not heat the pool; this is explained in our terms and conditions of rental. The heater was only able to function when the temperature went above 50 degrees F. Finally, multiple additional pest treatments were done as advised by the visiting technician. We have recently changed our treatment programs to cope with the considerable growth of ChampionsGate and the pest issues that arise from increased valet trash, very high occupancy and Florida’s humid sub-tropical climate.
