"I've been driving by The Shoe for over 40 years and finally took the opportunity to spend a weekend there with life-long friends. It.Was.Fantastic!!!! It's cozy, cool, creative, and full of history! We were thankful for rainy weather because we did not want to leave! Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU to the owners and host for preserving this iconic York County site and for the perfect place to have a mini-vacay with my girls!"

"Beautiful cabin and property. Lots of seating and room to enjoy the whole family together. Many amenities and thoughtful items, such as soap bars, shampoo, toothbrushes, coffee, games, fishing items, fire pit with wood, and basically everything you need for a fun, enjoyable time. Wonderful property that is so close to Gettysburg, and staying in a piece of history at the same time. Absolutely perfect! Our whole family could be in one place for our daughter's graduation from Gettysburg College....

"This little cottage is located in a very cute little WALKING community. There is no parking at the property. The listing says "Free parking a short walk away." I guess this depends on what you define as a "short walk." There are several options for parking and the closest two lots were full when I got there, so it's very inconvenient to load/unload and very confusing to figure out in the dark when I arrived with the instructions given. I tried to temporarily park in the neighbor's driveway for 5...

"We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. A very beautiful setting. No artificial light at night, just the stars. Comfortable, squeaky clean, very well equipped supplies throughout the property. Perfect hot tub in the screen-in porch overlooking the water. The owners, Bill & Mary, made all of the instructions super clear. We hope to be back again!"
