“Our 2 bedroom villa was beautifully furnished with a modern kitchen and gorgeous outdoor space around a private pool. The indoor outdoor shower in the master bedroom was amazing. This villa has separate air conditioning in both bedrooms and the living room. Having a washer/dryer was a nice bonus. These villas are situated in a gated community on top of a hill overlooking the Maya flats about 15 minutes outside Xunantunich. You definitely need AWD to access your villla. “We loved everything about Rio Mantra. It is a great place to land each night after exploring the wonders of San Ignacio and area. We even cooked in one night. We spent most of our time outside by the pool listening to the sounds of the jungle. A toucan came by several days and a family of parrots made a playful racket. It was great!”

“This was a great place for a family of seven. The house was clean and accommodating. We loved the privacy of being in the woods all by ourselves. The walk in the reserve was worth it! We were able to stand right under the tree a howler monkey was howling in. There were lots of parrots and we saw toucans, too. We would definitely stay here again!”

“good location to town, but the neighborhood was really noisy at nights (the dogs barking woke us up every night several times) and the windows are not made to keep any sound out. The refrigerator was broke for our entire 5 night stay. We had the use of the dorm size fridge from the lower level but that was not sufficient for a family of 6 for 5 nights, in particular over Christmas when markets were closed for 2 days in a row. We requested assistance on use of the safe and never heard back from……
