"I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful our stay was here. This house is GORGEOUS — the pool, the high ceilings, the huge windows, it was all so lovely. We had a group of 11 people and we all fit very comfortably. The house is a short 10-minute walk to Playa Carrillo, which we loved more than the beach in Sámara: it’s a long, peaceful stretch of sand with gentle waves and lots of palm trees for shade. There are a handful of restaurants and little grocery stores within walking distance of the house for anything you might need. And of course, Sámara is a short drive away if you want more variety. But I’ve saved the best for last — María, our host, was the most wonderful part of our stay. There was no request too small or too large for her and her husband to help us with, no matter the time of day. They warmly welcomed us, cooked multiple meals for us, provided recommendations for anything we wanted to do (surfing, horseback riding, massages, you name it), cleaned the pool every day, and helped us navigate a flat tire situation. We joked that we wanted to take María with us on the rest of our trip. Stay here, you will love it!!"

"This home is wonderful, with lots of room to spread out and beautiful outdoor spaces that look out onto a forested valley. Veranda is perfect for spying on birds, monkeys, and iguanas through binoculars. The location worked well. The 10-minute walk to the beach allowed adults to head over individually before the rest drove over with chairs/umbrella/cooler. Easy walk to a few restaurants. We had a good dinner at El Colibri, but Soda la Plaza was our favorite (my best meal in Costa Rica!). The beach was beautiful and uncrowded at the end of November. A fringe of palm trees provided relief from the sun for the local families and tourists hanging out. The road is close to the beach, but we didn’t hear or see it from the sand/water. (Serious speed bumps keep traffic slow and quiet.) As the description indicates, the bedrooms have AC, but the common areas don’t. Despite the hot and humid weather, fans and open windows/doors kept the common areas comfortable. And we frequently hopped into the beautiful pool. Host was very responsive before and during our visit. The housekeeper was knowledgeable and helpful, even though she and I didn’t speak a common language. She had done an excellent job of prepping the house, which was very clean. We’re glad we opted to have her cook us breakfast one morning. It was delicious and the outdoor setting near the pool was lovely. We’d stay here again in a minute!"

"We were a group of 4 adults and 3 kids the house was bigger than our needs and easily catered for much bigger groups. For us it was perfect. Check in was simple and easy communication with host. We had a issue with the pool and the problem was solved the same day and the host responded immediately. Our Spanish was very poor so communication with the house staff was difficult and some requests lost in translation but they were there when called upon. They were very helpful the day we left when we noticed we had a flat tyre on one of the cars. The house itself is wonderful, our 3 kids (8,11&13) loved the pool as did we and the beds were very comfy. The amenities within the property are as described and the kitchen has every appliance you can think of. The fridge freezer leaked everyday but worked well enough, the host was made aware and using one of the many towels each day was sufficient enough. The location is excellent there are a few places to eat with an amazing Argentinian restaurant just a short walk away which we highly recommend, it’s fantastic food. Samara is only a 10/15 min drive which is full of everything you’d need with beach bars, surf lessons pharmacies restaurants etc. The nearby beach of Puerto Carrillo is stunning there were cool boxes in the house to take food drink with you on the 10 min walk or very short drive down to enjoy sunset or a day on it as we did. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to any big group."
