"What a delightful surprise the Wayside Inn has been! Lovely, spacious, updated room comfortably appointed, and with great beds and pillows. It’s in a terrific location, close to everything, but quiet, too. We got a restful nights sleep before hitting the stores and restaurants. I will definitely stay here on my next visit to Carmel and will also recommend this wonderful hotel to my friends. "

"Good place especially for families with kids. However, the restaurant service is poor--slow, tables not ready for reservation time (even when few people, they had us wait in the lobby and then after leading us to the table they combined them in front of us while we waited in between diners/other tables). Room Service had to come twice because they 'forgot' part of the order. Basically, the kitchen needs work! The maintenance of the room balcony areas were not clean. The buildings needed...

It is an older property, but with all the modern necessities so rather than feeling outdated it lends itself to the traditional charm of a coastal inn. Also super conveniently located to all the restaurants and shops and comes with parking. We’ve stayed at a couple different inns in the area and this has been the best value for money in terms of what you get and reasonable pet fee by far! "
