Our lakefront property slopes down to the lake, and has a private dock for fishing & boating. It is nestled between three towns - Hinesburg, Bristol & Vergennes. Breathtaking sunsets on the lake are our major attraction all four seasons. Nature and bird watching are few of the highlights of our vacation rental.

Fall: Spectacular and breathtaking foliage with amazing shades of red, orange and yellow attracts folks from all other states and around the world. Other fall activities include fishing, boating, hiking, and apple picking at closeby Norris farm.

Spring / Summer: Paradise on Lake Cedar truly becomes a nature lover's paradise in spring and summer and comes alive with many species of birds, fish, insects and animals. Boating, fishing, hiking and watching spectacular sunsets on the lake are some of the many activities around this time of year.

Grungy
Not sure where to start, so much wrong and so little right. Mattress was comfortable. Kitchen has been updated and looked nice but oven and stove top were filthy, refrigerator fairly clean. Carpets through out were disgusting. House has 2 1/2 baths, one, the shower didn't work, the other had been updated but both had moldy shower liners. Come on owner, those cost $5.00 apiece at Wal-Mart. The place needs serious fumigation, spider's everywhere through out the house inside and out. When I lifted the cover, the gas grill was totally rusted out through the bottom and was unusable. It is on a small lake, I would call a pond, and would boat on it but I would never swim in it.

Worn-out, unkempt place
Run down house--only kitchen and laundry rooms renovated. Deck and porch not swept/dusted, cobwebs everywhere, squishy beds. Mouse traps on floor, but STILL saw mouse in room. Two of four TVs not hooked up, no directions on how to use. Our daughter heard noises overhead one night and the next day the room smelled like a dead animal. She had to vacate the room. When we contacted the owner, she asked US to check the attic! No pest control showed up to rectify the situation.

Great location and beautiful house
Overall a pleasant experience .. beautiful view of the lake and great location. Had trouble getting the internet to work initially but once we figured it out, it was great. Thermostat in the The living room area doesn’t work so make sure you open the door to let some air in until it is fixed.

It’s ok to stay for few days. What we like the mist was the property by the lake.
It’s ok overall. There are few things need to be upgraded or replaced. The toilet downstairs was not working right. The faucet sink in the bathroom is broken. Mattresses need to replace. WiFi was not working .

Great overall
The house was very nice and the lake was beautiful. It is a little tough to fish from the dock as it is really weedy there, but you could paddle out to the middle and fish there.

Very relaxing mini vacation
The house itself is quite large so it worked well for the 8 of us (only 5 spent nights there). The lake is beautiful and the kayaking (we brought) was fun. We were however disappointed to find that swimming in this lake is not an option so if like us, that is something you want to do this is not the rental for you. We had also brought several lawn games only to find there really isn't a lawn. The property slopes fairly steeply from the road right down to the water. The owner of the property lives in NJ, not sure how often he visits the property. He was very responsive to emailed questions which was appreciated. But a few pieces of advice to make the property more enjoyable: The kitchen is large and updated but dishes were not very clean because the dishwashing detergent was cheap & not effective. Dishwasher is a good brand so just needed better soap. Sponge was so gross we didn't use it. Easy enough to replace frequently. The grill needs to have the burner covers replaced and a good cleaning, which can't be done with grill covers that will disintegrate as soon as they're touched. The outside of the property has a lot of empty planters & birdbaths. If no one is going to maintain them they could be put away in the shed. Planters with nothing but weeds look far worse than no planters. The most expensive thing is a complete remodel of the main bathroom on the main floor. Having said all that, this is overall a good place to stay. As stated the kitchen is large and updated, There is a beautiful , large screened in porch facing the lake, the living room & bedrooms comfortable enough, really nice laundry room and the surrounding country side is just beautiful!

Excellent Getaway-Small town feel
Great place on a small lake, our kids had a blast. Some recent remodels on the kitchen and one bathroom were very nice. This is not a luxury get away but it is still a great place and just what we were looking for. We had 2 families with 8 kids total and it was very comfortable and everything was as advertised.

Relaxing
We rented this house back in March for our summer vacation in July. A few days before we got to VT the property owner notified us that there was a remodel that hadn’t been finished when they were expecting it too so we would be down 2 rooms. We are a family that is easy going and not uptight. They compensate us with a partial refund. There was 9 people in our group. Even with the 2 rooms not usable this house has plenty of room! We had an absolute wonderful stay. The kids fished off the docks for hours. Everyday even pulling in a large mouth bass at one point. We all used the peddle boat and kayak throughout the week. The kitchen is big and spacious so we were able to have big family meals without anyone bumping into or squeezing into place. Yes there were contractors who came but they were not intrusive on our vacation. Everyone was very nice. The only real issue we had was the downstairs toilet but we made due. All in all we would definitely recommend this house. For 8 days our little ones and our teenagers had so much fun they are begging to come back next summer! Our friends and family who stopped to visit loved the house and location as well. If the house was this comfortable now I’m sure once the remodel is done it will be even better! Already planning our trip for next year!!

ABSOLUTE EMBARRASSMENT
Im going to be fair here and start by saying, the owner I believe lives in Jersey so they might not be able to visit their property that often. Done This place was an absolute DUMP! We rented this house because there are 8 adults, two children and an infant... this place is a 4 bedroom... WRONG. She called us 8 days before our arrival to let us know tha 2 of the four bedrooms were under construction. When we got there it looks as if it was NEVER a 4 bedroom because said 4th bedroom was still being attached. The 3.5 bathrooms were just 1 with a the half bath through a construction bedroom and a second bathroom having a broken toilet. 1 Shower for 10 people. The outdoor screened in porch that she told us could be used as a bedroom for the kids was leaking and moldy, filled with cobb webs and large spiders... not really a dream room for any kid! The grass hasn't been cut in weeks, until my brother in law took it upon himself to trim around the seating area and fire pit. The water on their shoreline was completely littered with solo cups, bud light cans, food wrappers. There were three different boats to use but one of them had a hole in the back floor... No AC, understandable because it is Vermont, but all but one fan either didn't work or was broken in half. They did replace them two days later. Don't bother putting them in windows though because they were filled with cobb webbs, spiders and dead flys as well as moths.. absolutely atrocious. Cable was supposed to be provided, but it wasn't hooked up, remotes didn't have working batteries or any batteries.... not a problem for the adults but it was at bedtime, in the living room, for all the kids. Cute little deck off one of the bedrooms but don't walk on it, the boards ARENT NAILED DOWN! It sits on top of the roof below but step on one side and the other end pops up... crazy The grill had two empty tanks and looked as if it were 10 years old.. Bought a new tank and the grill didn't even work. There were dead plants in planters all over the downstairs deck. The hammock had craters in it so you couldn't use it. The lake we found out upon arrival doesn't get swam in. The construction workers were hammering nails into the house on Monday morning at 8am, until politely told to stop, which they were gracious to comply. Then to top it all off the Main water supply into their house exploded. We payed closed to $3K for this place for a week. DUMP. DONT DO IT UNTIL IT GETS CLEANED UP

Beautiful views, but property only ok
The views were beautiful and the location was great for the wedding I was going to. But the property was damp and full of spiders and a mildew smell. The beds were not comfortable and were terribly squeaky. Overall, only ok.

Lovely location on lake but too "rustic"
The location on the lake in Monkton was beautiful. Kitchen, bathrooms and bedding were clean. But the whole house needed some deep cleaning - cobwebs in bedrooms and baths. Chairs on roof deck needed cushions and other outside chairs and tables needed cleaning. It is about 25-30 minutes from Burlington.

great location
20 minutes from the family event on rte 7 we all came for (8 adults, 5 children) the little kids loved the peddle boat, and there were plenty of life jackets for them to wear Beds for all (including some cots for the kids), but mattresses on the big beds were very uncomfortable and noisy Plenty of dishes and glassware for all to use, as well as pots and pans and serving bowls, and gas grill. We liked the nice open great room where we could all be together, but still have room for small groups to chat linens and towels were all clean, but some smelled moldy Very narrow and steep spiral stair from bedrooms down to great room actually was easy and safe for the kids, but the route outside was more doable for those of us with bad knees Overall, served our purposes very well for a long weekend with family, and not an exorbitant price

Avoid this rat infested filthy house
This filthy mice & centipedes infested house had trash piled all around it, and things were much worse inside the house. They have insect repellents in every room, but there were centipedes and mouse droppings everywhere inside the house. Our food left in the kitchen was eaten and ruined by mice at night. Couches in the living room were disgusting and looked like they were picked up from road side. If the mice, spiders and centipedes inside the house won’t terrify you, the bare electrical wires were hanging from the ceiling will. Boats are had holes in them, and life jackets are disgusting to touch. The swamp is not swimmable, but you can see sun fish from the dock. They charge you hundreds of dollars for cleaning the house, but this house has never been cleaned. The owner is only interested in taking your money, not providing you a clean and safe house. All the positive ratings for this house are fake. This house is uninhabitable for humans, avoid it at any cost.

Great outside and indoor space. Stunning sunsets.
The house was above and beyond. It was fully furnished with bath products, all linens, xtra cots, all paper products. The house was extremely spacious with wonderful views of the lake. We didn't swim or boat but there was that option. The screened in porch was the highlight for evenings. It provided an outside space with wonderful views without the bugs. I would rent this house again! The slope to the water was a bit steep so bring good sneakers and you will be okay! I can only imagine the foliage is stunning in the fall.
