A great getaway! Boat available for rent. Private and quiet. A must see!

Spacious waterfront home with 257 feet of frontage on the Chanel leading to Tubbs lake with access to over 2000 acres of water on the Martiny Chain of Lakes where there is Great fishing and wildlife to be seen. This home offers 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, living room, family room with fireplace, dining room, eat-in kitchen with new appliances and furniture. One king size bed, two queen beds, and two cots. The Master bedroom has room to add an air mattress for additional sleeping. There is a sectional sofa and couch for additional space. Outdoor fire pit with seating. Lots of space inside and out for memories to be made. Two decks, and dock complete the package. Two Adult Kayaks also available and one child’s, there is no charge for the use of them. It is a short drive to town for shopping, at the local grocery store and meat market, it is small but the butcher is fabulous. There is a large grocery store 20 minutes away in Remus, or an, ALDIs, target, Walmart, Sam’s club, or Meijer 30 minutes away in Mt. Pleasant. The soaring eagle casino, or water park are also located in Mt. Pleasant. We found the place and area while visiting the daughters when they went to Central Michigan for college. It is a great for getting away relaxing by the fire or exploring the Martiny chain of lakes on the pontoon boat that is available to rent. Minimum 3 night stay. One hour and 15 minutes to tippy dam for great fishing and close to state land for hunting. Hundreds of acres of state land to explore. Tubing at the river 15 minutes away. We rented a place every year for us and our 5 children and grandchildren to vacation together and decided we should just buy a place we could go to with the kids anytime of year. In the winter it is so relaxing to sit with a fire in the fireplace, yummy food in the oven, playing games with the kids or out in the snow. Since buying this place we have gained 5 more grandchildren making it a total of ten, and our 11th on the way July of 2024. We love going and staying there if only for a weekend and hope you will enjoy it too. One of the reasons we hose a home with 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bathrooms. The home is on an acre of land with lots of room for yard games and sitting by the fire pit.

Family Vacation
Great family vacation!! The house was very clean and accommodating for my family of 10. We spent the day at Silver Lake which was about an hour and 40 minutes but worth the drive. The kids enjoyed the fishing by the dock. The bonfire at night was very peaceful . Everyone had a great time! Rented the boat for Saturday but we had thunderstorms so we didn't get to go to the surrounding lakes or spend a lot of time on it. Paul was really good about answering all my questions. We will definitely be back again!!

Had a great time here! Was nice being able to rent pontoon with the stay. Plenty of water to see and fish. Kids had fun fishing off shore, making s’mores at the fire. Plenty of room inside the house. Was great to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle and unplug for a few days.

Girls Weekend!
Rented this house with my Mom and Twin Sister for our birthday weekend - it was great! House is clean and roomy. Hosts are very responsive to questions, but some info was lacking on the check in page. Instructions for check in and check out were easy to follow once we got them. Comfy furniture and beds, clean linens, fast wifi and right on the water. Couldn't ask for more.

We loved boating through the open channels and seeing the beautiful vegetation and wildlife on the lake. The house was nice, and had everything we needed for our trip. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and fishing in the canal by the house. Great get-a-way for any family! Owners were very helpful!

The house is true to the pics and very spacious and comfortable for my family of 8. kitchen very well stocked for cooking and plenty of storage for food. We were missing a pizza pan or pizza cutter but made due. Also, the frig /top freezer thing was new for us. Didn't relize it was also just a frig. couple of things got thawed out but was not a problem. Might want to put that info in the instructions or on the frig somewhere for renters. We enjoyed our time and the pontoon boat was great. Fishing was good, didn't due much swimming because the water was very cold. Only mother nature can change that. Would rent here again.

Family summer vacation
We unfortunately didn’t have the best weather so it was nice that the cabin was clean & comfortable on the inside because we ended up spending a lot more time inside than we planned to! Nice fire pit outside that we were able to enjoy a few times. We rented the boat for the duration of our stay and despite the rain we took it out multiple times. The directions that were provided to get to the lake and other lakes were very helpful. And as stated in other reviews the boat motor is finicky at best. You need to mix your own gas/oil ratio so make sure you have some because we didn’t see any provided in the small shed. And honestly I’m sure that’s one reason the motor is not the best- renters mixing the gas themselves. The previous renters must have dumped a whole quart of oil in the gas because all it did was smoke and stall out. Once my husband took out the bad gas and mixed the proper ratio with gas and oil that we had brought, we had better success. Owners responded to the questions I needed to ask via the app. Overall a nice place and my family enjoyed our time.

House was great for up to 12. We had a little mouse problem and found mouse poo in places we didn’t want to but we caught one and didn’t see anymore the rest of our stay. The fishing wasn’t great from the dock due to being shallow but the kids caught a few and we also went fishing down the street. The house setup was perfect and so was the bonfire pit..although a few broken chairs. along with plenty of serving utensils in the kitchen.. bring your own prep knives if you prefer sharp ones. Downfall.. the cameras we found setup around the house without owner notifying us of them (not happy with finding these having young children with us) and the smell of smoke when we arrived in the house (but the owner explained someone didn’t open the hatch of the fireplace previously). The smoke smell cleared prior to departure. The house size itself was fit for our clan. The shower door in the master bath made me nervous with kids as well due to not on track and being sliding glass so we forbid the kids from using it. There were kids games and cards, internet and fresh air. The house is not on a lake but on a canal that leads to a lake. We would stay here again!

Relaxing vacation!
This is a great property! The home is spacious and clean -- we cooked in every night, so we REALLY loved the kitchen as it had plenty of space to prepare our meals. It was stocked with a lot of things we needed for cooking. The community where the home is located is very quiet. We used the boat several times a day! Tubbs Lake is gorgeous with great sunset views. Other things we loved: washer/dryer access, a TON of fridge space, black out curtains in the master bedroom, and the seating area outside. A few tips: - Don't be afraid to reach out to the owners if you have any trouble figuring out how to start the boat's motor. We thought we had the correct way, but we were totally wrong and there is a much more efficient way! Once we talked with Paul, the motor started on the first try every time. Don't wait until the second to last day like we did! - Bring any specific items you may need for cooking. They had pretty much all the basics, though. If you're doing a lot of prep for meals, we'd recommend bringing your own cutting knives -- the ones they have available require a little more elbow grease! But, they did get the job done. Overall, we loved our stay here. We are already looking back on it fondly. We would definitely stay again! Thanks, Paul & Heather!

Quiet Get-a-way
This property is a nice find. Comfy furniture, ample seating indoors and out, dock fishing is great (better luck on the dock than out in the lake actually). the kitchen is stocked with pretty much everything you'll need. the coffee grinder is a nice touch for fresh ground coffee. We rented the boat - it's an older boat and quite touchy to start and keep running well - make sure to warm it up well and keep the weeds off the rudder. after we figured that out, it worked pretty good. nice big fire pit and plenty of chairs for sitting around the fire. in all a nice property to spend time with the family. Big Rapids is about 30 min away. Barryton's Dollar General actually has a good supply of groceries and Remus has a larger grocery and a nice little pizza place you should try. (Jo Jo's).
