"The location of King’s Kastle on Salmon Lake is excellent. The lake is wide at that point and offers great views of the sunrise, particularly from the upstairs master bedroom suite. The lake has less development than others where we have stayed in Maine. We enjoyed seeing loons, eagles, and osprey which are abundant. "The almost permanent view of the lake was magnificent. Since the lake is west of the property, the sunsets are also wonderful. I even took one of the kayaks out to the Lighthouse. Even though it looks far away but it only took about 10 minutes of easy paddling. Great place for a peaceful vacation. Bar Harbour was close enough for quick day trip and then the Loop at Acadia Nat'l Park provided great panoramic views."

"It was very difficult for me to be in the situation with no Internet and much too far to drive into town every time I needed it. I also didn’t realize that he didn’t supply linens and towels so well though the location was gorgeous those were too big problems for me I really don’t know if I mentioned that on the online booking but I was taken by surprise. "Good: The front view is beautiful. It’s a quiet area and you can hear frogs outside. The local memorabilia decorations are fun. Not So Great: There was hair ALL over our bedding, tables, shower etc when we arrived (owner seemed aware). Extra attention to the cleanliness is needed, especially considering the cleaning fees. There is hardly any privacy from the road (people fishing or driving by) with the lack of curtains. The bathroom needs to have some covering. There was no hand soap or...

"Myself and 4 friends booked this home on the water for an annual super bowl ice fishing trip. The house was just as described, spacious and comfortable. The pond is beautiful and the fishing was outstanding, we caught fish all day long. Location is good as well, with plenty of restaurants and downtown Augusta within 10 to 15 minutes. Great home for the price."

"This is the cleanest property I have ever rented. Spotless! The setting is so peaceful and calming. Hubby and I sat outside looking at the lake, listening to the leaves rustle and a feeling of total relaxation was ours. Grocery stores and town are only a few miles down the road. Easy to find. We loved this place!!"
