Room was very worn - toilet seat chipped, stains on ceiling, carpet very worn, fridge/freezer in room did not work. There is no thermostat in the room either. It was cold during the night and there is only a sheet and very thin duvet on the bed. There is an exhaust fan above a two burner cooktop that banged loudly in the wind all night long. Not a very comfortable stay. No on site parking - we were able to park two streets over, but I imagine it could be an issue in season (we travelled in early March).

Kathleen,Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am very sorry we did not meet your expectations and that you did not have a comfortable stay. I do wish you would have called us while you were here so that we could work to rectify at least some of your concerns and make your stay more pleasant instead of just having a "not very comfortable stay". Our little hotel is in a 100 year old historic beach side building. Because of its age and style I can understand why it may appear worn, particularly if you are expecting a modern hotel. Clearly there were some issues with your room which disrupted your stay and that always disappoints us as we strive to provide a good experience. The stains on the ceiling we were aware of and were in the process of repairing. They occurred due to a minor leak during a recent rain/wind storm. The leak was repaired before your stay and the ceiling was repainted just after your stay. We were not aware that the refrigerator was not working and have since replaced that. As for the heat, unfortunately older buildings such as this only have a single control per floor. Had you called us we would have been happy to increase the temperature for you beyond the normal temperature of 69 degrees we leave it at. Also if the blanket which was on your bed was not sufficient, there was an extra blanket in your closet for your use. Again I wish you would have considered calling us during your stay so that we could have quickly fixed several of your problems. Lastly regarding the parking. I am sorry again that you were not aware we do not have on site parking. We do our best to communicate this to every 3rd party company we sell rooms through, however as a 3rd party we can not control how they provide this information to you. It is very clear on our web site that parking is only on the street. I am a bit surprised you had to go two blocks to find it this time of year as there is normally plenty of parking either on the street in front of the hotel or on the same street but just across the main road. Even two blocks away you were probably not more than 600 to 800 feet and was likely a shorter journey than parking in most parking garages to a guest room in most of the casino resort properties. You are correct though in the summer parking at times can be more of a challenge, especially during the weekends.Again I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us. I do wish you would have reviewed our website (all of our room pictures are very accurate and taken within the past year) so that you had a better sense of what our property has to offer and I wish you would have contacted us with any problems so we could have worked to make your stay more enjoyable. We do hope your next visit to the area is a much better one.

Just needed a place that stay for the night it was an easy check-in and room was clean and perfect for us..the past reviews were accurate

This property was perfect for our girl's weekend. It is spacious,clean and has everything you need. The people who worked there were so helpful. This would also be a great property for a small family.

Really nice property, walking distance to the beach. Very quit, was able to talk to people staying in the hotel rooms as well. Loved the shower.

Michele, I'm sorry you were unhappy with your stay. The day you checked in you sent a message you were unhappy with the room. I responded asking what you were unhappy with so we could try to fix it and make your more satisfied. Unfortunately you never responded to us but instead waited until after you left to simply leave a negative review. Next time I hope you give the property or service provide the opportunity to make you happy.

I was told it will be first floor. When i got to the property i was more like in the basement. No one to talk to. Check in was by email. Horrible door was unlocked i got to the property. No patking. I had to pay for a parking permit. I will never. I pay almos $300 for the night.

Elizabeth we are very sorry you were unhappy with your room. We are very surprised because this is a very popular room in the Summer especially since there are no stairs and a private entrance but we understand everyone has different tastes and needs. I am not sure who would have told you it was on the first floor. It would not have been anyone from our offices as we always refer to it as ground floor. Unfortunately we can not control what you might be told by Expedia or any other 3rd party booking site.While we do not have a front desk since we are a very small property we have staff available all the time either on site or near site (with 100 feet). There was a letter with your key which highlighted this and provided a phone number if you needed any help. We never received any phone calls from you.Yes we do utilized a completely contactless check in process by email. I'm sorry if you did not enjoy it. Most people seem to appreciate not having to wait in a line or have the flexibility to arrive when they wish and go straight to their room. Again if you needed any assistance the email you received for check in also had the same phone number you could call and a live person would have met you immediately.During check in times we do leave the door to that unit unlocked so guests can enter and pick up the key. This should have been explained in the email instructions. This does not provide any access to any other units or the property in general as the rest of the rooms are behind a common entry point which has a coded lock.We advertise this unit with free on street parking. You can park on any of the local side streets (except in front of a meter) for free. The city does require a special parking permit to park more than 4 hours which we provided to you free of charge. We do however take a deposit for the parking permit which was refunded to you when you returned it. So to say there is no parking and that you had to pay for it is a bit unfair and inaccurate.I'm sorry if you thought 300 was a lot of a Saturday night in the peak of the summer, over a weekend with a beach concert drawing upwards of 30,000 people a day, for a hotel room which was 250 feet from the beach. We believe our rates were very fair considering many of the hotels in Atlantic City were charging upwards of 600 or more the same night and that was before any taxes or fees.All I can say is I'm sorry you did not enjoy your experience with us. We do our very best but we are just not a good fit for every guest. We try to be as transparent as possible and provide accurate information and photos of each guestroom type. We hope your next visit to the are you will find something more suitable for you.
