“This is an adorable cottage in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood. Excellent location, close to downtown and the beach. Perfect for us, with a fenced in yard for the fur baby. Nice amenities, including condiments, spices, coffee and tea provided in the renovated kitchen (loved the blue cabinets!). Our daughter lives in the area, so we will definitely be back.”

“Everything was as advertised, beautiful home, plenty of sleeping arrangements. Location is perfect for an easy walk around downtown. Homeowners are very responsive and polite. Will definitely be coming back. Alpena is a surprisingly "big" small town with lots to offer for everyone.”

First, everything we needed to know or that could have been an issue upon arrival was covered by the owner of the property long before we even left for the trip. The communication from the owners was exceptional and had us prepared for the visit. The location was wonderful, it was extremely quiet and peaceful. “Shower left a lot to be desired. Cold water knob fell off. When turned on not sure if it was from sitting or the shower head but ended up covered with a rust type sludge. I know it’s from the well water but maybe before being occupied if it sat vacant go in and run the shower and clean the shower head.”

“We are a family that prefers to cook at home. This place actually surprised us with the kitchen appliances and dishes that were available for our use. Apple trees in the front yard were a plus! Two apple pies later!”

“The setting was beautiful! The kitchen sink and shower were so disgusting, we went to town for cleanser and cleaned them before we could use them. The refrigerator was dirty and had other peoples food (condiments etc) in it. There were cob webs with spiders and eggs under the table in the living room. We only stayed 2 nights of our three booked. There wasn't a can opener or toaster in the kitchen. There were also two gun safes in our cabin! ”
