"The Hollywood Hotel was very convenient for our first trip to LA without a car. It was clean, had a beautiful pool area and courtyard, and was close to the Vermont/Santa Monica Metro station. It was only 15 minutes away from West Hollywood by subway, and it was easy to get to the Hollywood Bowl and Dodgers stadium using transit or Uber. The neighborhood north of the hotel is pretty safe, as it is mainly a medical district with a couple of major hospitals. We walked it at night with no issues....
